The Supply and Demand Culture of Higher Education

Times Higher Education takes a look at the landscape of Universities and research funding in the Nordic Countries and we have to stop and note the choice of language being used, here by the Danish Higher Education Minister of Education, who states that her main focus […] will be to provide “a better match between the supply of candidates and employer demand.” So, yet again, the story being perpetuated here is one in which Higher Education Institutions are suppliers of graduates (yes, human beings) to the market of employers. How much longer can we continue to live by that particular story about education?”

Crossfields Institute honours Robert Lord

Crossfields Institute honours Robert Lord, who passed away 14th of September 2016. Robert was a great supporter of our work and he served as a Trustee of Emerson College between 2010 and 2013. Robert had an entrepreneurial spirit and with his wife, Angela, he ran Colour Transformation Ltd through which he offered advice and consultancy. We will think of Robert with gratitude for what he did to contribute to a better society. Our thoughts also go to Angela at this time.
