The aim of this Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Riding Instruction for Mental Health is to provide riding instructors and/or mental health professionals with both a theoretical understanding and a practical
framework which will enable them to conduct therapeutic riding sessions with clients who are experiencing a variety of challenges to their mental health. It draws on psychological theories and research to develop participants’ understanding of working therapeutically with horses and humans in a ridden context, and aims to provide a strong foundational knowledge of how horse riding can be beneficial to wellbeing.
