Summary
This qualification is intended primarily for 16-18 year olds and contains one module. The Independent Project enables students to follow their passion and explore an interest or career aspiration in depth whilst developing the ability to self-direct and coordinate their own learning. The Independent Project draws on formal, non-formal and informal learning and any area of the taught curriculum.

It equips students with a range of relevant skills which supports them to access higher education employment and entrepreneurship. These skills include:

- the ability to use creative thinking skills
- generating new ideas
- developing situational awareness

Learners must be aged 16 or over
It is the school or centre’s responsibility to ensure that students who are entered for this qualification make reasonable progress and are likely to achieve at this level.

Assessment
This qualification is graded Pass/Merit/Distinction which are pass grades. Learners are expected to complete a portfolio of evidence, demonstrating meeting the learning outcomes.
