Summary
This qualification aims to provide learners with a practical, work-based approach to learning about biodynamic farming and gardening. Upon completion learners will be able to work in organic, biodynamic and other holistic farming and gardening settings. This Level 3 certificate consists of 19 mandatory units and a choice of 3 units from 20 optional units.
Key features
This qualification prepares learners to:
- Work in a biodynamic farming or gardening setting: as a head gardener; arable, herds or fruit manager; in farm management roles.
- Work in post-harvest roles such as organic or biodynamic food processing; organic or biodynamic certification; food advocacy.
- Progress into higher education courses such as a Foundation Degree in Agriculture and Rural Studies; Degrees in Agricultural Technology, Agriculture and Food or Rural Business Management.
Entry requirements
- Learners must be at least 18 years of age, however due to the level of commitment required from this work-based learning qualification, a minimum age of 21 may be considered preferable.
- This is a work-based learning qualification. Learners are required to be employed in a gardening or farming setting, working a minimum of 3 days a week throughout the duration of the qualification.
