Summary

This qualification is for 16-18 year olds and contains three modules. These are the Action Research Methods, Independent Inquiry and Inner Development Practice modules.

At this unprecedented time in history, the qualification aims to respond to the urgent need for relevant learning, preparing young people for the ecological challenges around them. It also aims to raise attainment for all learners and reduce the numbers of early school leavers. The use of portfolio assessment and evidence of achievement from formal, informal and non-formal learning is designed to increase inclusion.

Entry requirements

Learners must be aged 16 or over

It is the school or centre’s responsibility to ensure that students who are entered for this qualification make reasonable progress and are likely to achieve at this level.

Study method

Blended, full or part time, as well as independent study. Some module specific delivery requirements as appropriate.

How long does it take?

2 years part-time recommended. The programme should be completed in a maximum of 4 years following registration.

Assessment

This qualification is graded Pass/Merit/Distinction which are pass grades and Working Towards which is a fail. Learners are expected to complete a portfolio of evidence, demonstrating meeting the learning outcomes.
