NCFE CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Studies (EYE)
Crossfields Institute has worked collaboratively with NCFE CACHE, the awarding organisation, to develop a specialist Steiner Waldorf Early Years Educator qualification, the Level 4 Diploma in Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Studies. The London Steiner Kindergarten Training Company Ltd as lead development partner, provided subject expertise and content in the development of these qualifications.
The aim of this qualification is to provide the learner with the expertise, skills and professional approach needed to be a Steiner Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher and Early Years Educator (EYE), and includes classroom based and placement hours. Learners completing this qualification may proceed directly to work in a Steiner Waldorf Early Years setting. The qualification is also relevant to those engaged in holistic work with children such as child minders, therapists and others working with children under seven years old both in Steiner Waldorf and mainstream settings.
In collaboration with NCFE CACHE, Crossfields Institute is responsible for approval, ongoing delivery, and centre quality assurance of these qualifications. As specialist qualifications there are particular requirements which any centre must meet in order to gain qualification approval in terms of both staff expertise and resources.
The London Steiner Kindergarten Training Company, was established in 1991 to deliver Steiner Waldorf early childhood studies training to learners intending on working in a Steiner kindergarten. This then led to the first Department for Education approved “Full and Relevant” Steiner Waldorf early childhood education. The centre’s approach is to providing learning and self-development opportunities which prepare learners to be self-reflective practitioners with the confidence to review their practice in the light of contemporary social needs surrounding early childhood.
