Crossfields Institute Level 5 Diploma in Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Studies – Leadership and Management

This work-based learning qualification has been designed for learners practicing in Steiner Waldorf early years settings who already hold EYE status. The qualification will support learners in developing the pedagogical, practical and leadership knowledge, understanding and skills required to be a Steiner Waldorf early years leader. Learners completing this qualification may go on to work in a Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood setting as a leader, mentor and/or manager.

Crossfields Institute is responsible for approval, ongoing delivery, and centre quality assurance of these qualifications. As specialist qualifications there are particular requirements which any centre must meet in order to gain qualification approval in terms of both staff expertise and resources.

This qualification was previously offered by NCFE CACHE, who have worked with Crossfields Institute since 2013 and would like to wish students following the Crossfields Institute Level 5 Diploma in Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Studies – Leadership and Management qualification the best of luck as they embark on their studies. This specialist qualification is one of quality, robust in both content and assessment it offers insight into the expertise, skills and professional approach needed to practice, and indeed develop, Steiner Waldorf approaches in an early childhood setting.

The London Steiner Kindergarten Training Company, was established in 1991 to deliver Steiner Waldorf early childhood studies training to learners intending on working in a Steiner kindergarten. This then led to the first Department for Education approved “Full and Relevant” Steiner Waldorf early childhood education. The centre’s approach is to providing learning and self-development opportunities which prepare learners to be self-reflective practitioners with the confidence to review their practice in the light of contemporary social needs surrounding early childhood.

NESWEC is based in York and in Stourbridge in the West Midlands and offers programmes in Steiner Waldorf early childhood education designed for the 21st century.  The centre is committed to an integrative approach, connecting the philosophy behind Steiner Waldorf education and care with methodology, up-to-date practice and working with current regulations.  Their programmes are a combination of long weekends in York, five-day residentials in Stourbridge, and online sessions, alongside some placement.  NESWEC aim to give students individual support and a collaborative and transformative experience.
